Free  online training resources

In order to maximise the results of the training and to make an overall experience for participants as friendly and effective as possible, we are providing free access to an online learning platform one month before the actual start of the course. On the Moodle learning platform, the participants will find lecture materials, video material, practical tasks and cases discussions, as well as an examination test sample to better prepare for an intense IWCF training.

Highly intense training

The course is provided in a highly intense format, allowing a group of participants to get the necessary knowledge and practical skills, that are recognised globally, in a very limited period of time.

Practical knowledge and skills

While training, participants will undergo a number of practical simulator sessions to enhance their understanding of the application of well control concepts and methods in the field. Thus, trainees who are on critical well control positions will be able to immediately apply their knowledge and skills obtained through training in their everyday work procedures and operations, enhancing safety and mastering the well control process in accordance with IWCF standards.

Internal reports to companies

We are providing intermediate reports to you on the participants attendance, discipline and online learning platform visiting rate.

Free re-assessment

In case of failing at the final assessment, which will consist of three exams, participants will be given one attempt to be re-assessed by an external examiner within 90 days of the initial examination date without an additional fee.

Well Control Instructor

Alexander is a well engineering professional with over 16 years of industry experience in supervision and technical management roles for engineering and oil servicing companies. The areas of expertise include well construction, drilling engineering, well completions and workover. His strong managerial and operational background in oil & gas industry, as well as excellent soft skills, make him an exceptional instructor, running weekly courses in various regions of the world.

Robert Dolgov

Well Control Instructor

Robert is an industry professional with a strong operational background and more than 10 years of oil and gas experience, including supervisory and senior roles in directional drilling. He uses his extensive practical knowledge and excellent interpersonal skills to mentor and coach, engage, motivate and support the candidates in their competency and further development. As a very enthusiastic, fully accredited instructor for all levels and disciplines of well control training programmes, he shares his passion for industry and professional development in the classroom. The trainees are getting an outstanding learning experience, thorough understanding of concepts and practices, as well as one of the highest exam pass rates.

Artyom Ostrovoy

Drilling Simulator Instructor and Assessor

Artyom has over 8 years of operational experience on land drilling rigs in various positions, leading to the role of Drilling Supervisor in large international projects. As an accredited Well Control instructor/assessor with invaluable operational knowledge on drilling and well workover, as well as IT background, he is passionate about technology and improving optimal and safe drilling practices to clients in his work and training practices.

Oleg V. Skakun

Well Control Instructor and Assessor, Well Intervention Instructor

Oleg has got a profound knowledge of a complete well construction cycle and drilling technologies. He is a prominent expert in well control and stuck pipe prevention fields with more than thirty years of work experience in the major national and international oil & gas companies. His competencies include not only technical skills in the oil field, but also a long track record of HR development and training practices.

Dmitry Kalichkin

Well Control Instructor and Assessor, Well Intervention Instructor

Dmitry is an expert in supervising services provision for construction of il, gas and gas condensate wells. Having started his professional path in large companies from the top list of the oil & gas industry, he has built up his career from an assistant drilling rig operator to a senior supervisor. He also possesses considerable experience of work in managerial positions, including monitoring of standards compliance for technological processes, labour protection and environmental safety.  

Nikolai Ivashin

Well control instructor, Well Intervention instructor

Having obtained profound experience of nine years in well construction, while working in both, Russian and international oil companies, Nikolay Ivashin has successfully built his professional path from an assistant driller to a leading supervising engineer.  His professional competencies include: well construction technologies, planning and control of production activities of drilling and service contractors, involved in the technological process, including well blowout safety requirements provision.

Ruslan Bakeev

Well Control Instructor and Assessor

Having obtained a PhD degree in Technical Sciences, Ruslan is specialising in the field of industrial and fire safety. His professional experience accounts to more than thirty years in the major oil and gas industry holdings, including managerial positions. In 2019, Ruslan joined our team of certified IWCF Well Control course instructors and has successfully run more than 20 projects in the training field by now.

Evgeny Pashnin

Drilling Simulator Instructor and Assessor

Evgeny is a drilling and well workover professional with over 15 years’ field experience in drilling and workover, 10 years of enhanced oil recovery expertise and 7 years in drilling and well control training. His extensive operational track record as a driller and well workover supervisor in the largest oil companies of Eurasia, covering a wide variety of operations and international projects – has enabled him to develop an extensive operational knowledge and capabilities. As a fully accredited Accessor of for all levels and disciplines of IWCF Drilling training programmes, Evgeny delivers high-quality classroom and simulator-based training on weekly basis in various locations worldwide.
